Driving Through Ohio and Indiana
1st Day on the Road Highlights:
1) Eating 6 meals (breakfast, lunch, lunch two more times again, and two dinners). I write this as I munch on a bag of Marriott Residence Inn popcorn. What can I say, long-distance driving gives me the munchies.
2) Listening to “Your Love is My Drug” about 11 times today which seemed to be playing in all the top radio stations in Ohio and Indiana
3) My mom driving a car that’s not a Honda Accord or her 1994 Saturn (that she claims is in perfect shape). Trust me, if you know her, this is a big deal!
4) Discovering there really isn’t anything in view from the Ohio Turnpike but trunks and trees
5) Indiana calls EZpass, “I-zoom”
6) Learned never to let my dog eat garbage. Her feces came out a burnt red today and she had me seriously worried for half a minute.
7) Our Residence Inn in Mishawaka, IN., actually charges $100/night for pet fees. Ridiculous! Hotels.com didn’t tell me this when I booked the room with them. They brought it down to $75 for us but my goodness. This is coming out of Kay’s food allowance. And I already gave her permission to pee freely on the carpet areas and lay inside the bed sheets. Yes, I’m evil.
8. Hmm. Also discovered that Indiana is slightly more exciting than Ohio (more billboards, I suppose). Prob why Monopoly decided to charge more for their property.
Hehe. So I just turned over to my mom and said, “I’m writing on my blog and I’m having some trouble remembering. Did anything funny happen today?”
She looks around, thinking for a few seconds. “No…. no…..nothing special happened today.”
So there you have it. Obvi there is nothing worth blogging about to you all. Sorry to waste your time.
Off to Chicago tomorrow — then to Wisconsin and toward Sioux Falls.
Love,
Angie (and Mama and Kay) from Mishawaka, Indiana
